Dr. Li Guohua Becomes CTO of DINHO

On September 21, 2022, Shanghai DINHO New Material Technology Co., Ltd. announced that Dr. Guohua Li has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and is fully responsible for the preparatory work of Shanghai DINHO Research Institute; he will lead DINHO New Material to go to a higher level in the field of lithium and hydrogen materials, solid-state semi-solid and sodium-ion battery technology development.

Mr. Li holds a doctorate degree in Applied Chemistry from Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) and Tianjin University in Japan, and has rich experience in theoretical and applied research as a researcher and associate professor at TIT and Tianjin University.

Before joining DINHO New Material, Dr. Li was engaged in lithium battery R&D and scientific and technological leadership at Sony Corporation of Japan for 20 years, and did in-depth research on lithium iron phosphate, lithium manganese phosphate, lithium manganese-iron phosphate for many years, and through microparticulation and carbon cladding technology, he was the first one in the world to make lithium iron phosphate achieve a capacity close to 163mAh/g of its theoretical capacity (170mAh/g), and the first to realize lithium manganese-iron phosphate with the theoretical capacity (170mAh/g) of 163mAh/g. For the first time in the world, he realized the reversible charge/discharge reaction of lithium manganese phosphate, and optimized the composition and structure of lithium manganese iron phosphate materials on this basis, and realized the large-scale mass production of lithium iron phosphate batteries of Sony in 2009 as the host of Sony's lithium iron phosphate battery public relations project.

After returning to China in 2014, he served as Deputy General Manager of Sony China Research Institute, Director of Shanghai Research Institute of Murata (China) Investment Co., Ltd, Director of New Energy Research Institute and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of New Energy of Sinochem International (Holding) Co., Ltd, and CTO of Tianneng Holding Group and Director of Lithium Research Institute.

During his tenure as the director of Sinochem International New Energy Research Institute, he built up the institute from scratch, and at the same time, within the framework of the company's overall strategic planning, he led the formulation of science and technology planning in the field of new energy and was responsible for its implementation. His responsibilities include: formulating annual R&D plans and budgeting, guiding the development and design of new products and controlling the process of transition from R&D to production, constructing a scientific and technological management system, building a team of scientific and technological personnel, and other forward-looking research and management work.

As a member of the International Academy of Electrochemical Energy Sciences (IAOEES), Dr. Li has also served as a member of the “International Symposium on Advanced Battery Technologies”, “International Forum on New Battery Anode and Negative Material Technologies”, “International Forum on New Battery Electrolyte/ Diaphragm Materials”, and “International Symposium on New Battery Electrolyte/ Diaphragm Materials”. Dr. Li has also served as the chairman and delivered keynote speeches at many international conferences such as “International Symposium on Advanced Battery Frontier Technology”, “International Forum on New Battery Anode and Negative Material Technology”, “International Forum on New Battery Electrolyte and Diaphragm Material Technology”, etc. Dr. Li has applied for more than 80 invention patents (with Japan as the applicant country, and most of the patents applied for the U.S., China, Europe, and international patents), and has published more than 10 academic papers and participated in the preparation of the academic book, Lithium Ion Batteries He has published more than ten academic papers and participated in the preparation of the academic monograph Lithium Ion Batteries.

As one of the earliest enterprises in China with high precision coating technology of nano-slurry, Shanghai DINHO New Material Technology Co., Ltd. has set up a manufacturing base in Changxing, Zhejiang Province with an annual output of 60,000 tons of functionalized collector and 500 million square meters of functionalized coated diaphragm.
